English teaching: North

These classes are organized for students from the villages Phoudindaeng, Pakpo and Viengsamai. We also have a few students from a villages more North.

 

1. Afternoon classes from Monday to Thursday:

We have 5 afternoon classes four days a week running from 17.00 until 19.00 that are taught by foreidn and local volunteers. All our beginner classes follow the same curriculum. The classes are based and taught at the primary school in Pakpo . These lessons, for which students can sign up are in addition to their regular formal education. Level 2 and 3 have their own curriculum. All the students can start as a beginner. At the end of the year their is an exam. If a students passes the exam, he or she can go to level 2 or 3.

  • Beginners until 10 years (1 group) (local volunteers)
  • Beginners from 11 to 15 years old (1 group)
  • Beginners older than 16 (1 group)
  • Level 2 with different ages (1 group)
  • Level 3 with different ages (1 group)

 

2. Compulsory morning classes from Monday to Friday 10.30-11.30:

We teach English in the local primary school of Pakpo. Each class gets one hour of English a week. These classes are introduction classes to get the students interested in the English language.

  • Monday: Primary 5 - 2 groups
  • Tuesday: Primary 4 - 2 groups
  • Wednesday: Primary 3 - 2 groups
  • Thursday: Primary 2 - 2 groups
  • Friday: Primary 1 - 2 groups

3. conversation classes for adults Friday and Saturday 17.30 - 18.30:

There is no English reading and writing involved and we ask the students to study a lot at home.
