Administration fee

Why?

There is a simple reason why EEFA asks for an administration fee. In the past quite a number of would-be volunteers that never arrives or arrived to late. Counting on their arrival and scheduling them to teach class has resulted in administration difficulties for us and terrible dissapointment to entiree classrooms of students who eagerly want to learn English. For this reason we began asking for an administration fee deposit, assuring our volunteers will arrive. You are off course not obliged to pay the fee. You can simply show up but be aware that EEFA cannot be held responsible if the teaching position had been filled by someone else. Our major concern is that our students have a teacher.

What we do with the money

As with every other organisation, we have monthly costs such as Internet, supplies for class preparation, ink for our printer, etc. The administration fee paid goes directly to the needs of our office. As you can see on Uur Staff page, every member (except for one), on the board works on a voluntary basis.

What's the advantage for you

If you pay an administration fee, EEFA guarantees your placement with a class. This means that you will be the responsible for one or more groups of students. You can decide whether you want to take an extra volunteer with you who might show up but had not paid the administration fee. Be aware that some volunteers prefer to work alone and may not want an extra volunteer in their classes.

Procedure

First of all, complete the application form at our volunteers page. we check for class availability on your requested dates. We will send you a confirmation form outlining the procedure to follow if you want to pay the administration fee.

How much

We ask that you pay a 60 USD project cost for the first two weeks. If you would like to stay for a longer period, the fee is 100 USD. Out fee is really not expensive. The administration fee is no-refundable.

We doubt you will find a project that's cheaper. Other similar organisations may charge as much as 1.000 USD for a month of volunteering. A fee likes this usually includes accomodation and sometimes meals. However, EEFA does not offer this extra service. If you stay in basic accomodations (which is what other organisations also offer) you will not pay more than around 500 USD for a month.

We would like to offer you a room but EEFA doesn't have the money to build accomodation for our volunteers.
